Kia Ora from Kyran
Principal's Welcome
Kia ora, talofa lava, kia orana, malo e lelei, fakaalofa lahi atu, min-ga-la-ba, xin chào, guten tag, здравствуй, nǐn hǎo, asalaam alaikum, konnichiwa, namaste, bonjour, hello, and welcome to Kahurangi School.
Kahurangi School is a Year 1–8 full primary school in Strathmore Park with a strong school culture and a wonderfully diverse community. We are a relatively young school, opened in 2013, and our modern learning environment reflects that. Today, we are a thriving school of around 270 students.
What matters most to us is that children enjoy coming to school, feel safe, feel a strong sense of belonging, and are supported to learn and grow. We are proud of the positive reputation we have within our community and work hard every day to make Kahurangi a place where tamariki feel happy, confident, and valued.
We believe education is about more than academic success alone. It is also about wellbeing, relationships, and helping children become kind, capable, and thoughtful people. This is reflected in our strong focus on student wellbeing, our high expectations, and our restorative approach when challenges arise.
We place great value on working in partnership with whānau and warmly welcome families from all backgrounds. We invite you to explore our website and, if you’d like, come and visit us to experience Kahurangi School in person.
Ngā mihi nui,

Our Vision
Our school vision sits at the heart of who we are and what we’re about.
Whāia te iti kahurangi,
ki te tūohu koe me he maunga teitei.
–
Pursue that which is precious,
and do not be deterred by anything less than a lofty mountain.
We want our tamariki to achieve, succeed and excel whilst understanding that at times they will need to take risks, be prepared to make mistakes, try hard and not give up.
